GENERAL: All puppies are sold with ADBA registration for American Pit Bull Terriers or CKC registration for Rat Terriers, regular de-wormings and age appropriate vaccinations.  We have a strict policy that includes all information be discussed between the buyer and us prior to any monies exchanged. We prefer not to discuss information with a translator or third party due to the possibility of incorrect or incomplete translation of information. If a third party is necessary we will not be held responsible for any incorrect or incomplete translation of information. Any communication method is accepted.  All puppies must be picked up or shipped no later than 9 weeks of age. Arrangements can be made for puppies to be held after 9 weeks of age if the buyer agrees to pay kennel charges in the amount of $10 per day past 9 weeks of age. All incurred kennel charges must be paid in full prior to pick up or shipment of your puppy. The only automatic exception to the kennel charges past 9 weeks of age is if due to inclement weather.

INTERNATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: The buyer is solely responsible for checking all Breed Specific Legislation laws for their country, as well as providing a list of all required information for live animal international travel to Southern Illinois Kennel prior to any monies being exchanged. ie. Microchips, passports, vaccination requirements, etc.  Any required vet examinations, additional vaccinations past 8 weeks old (including rabies), microchips, passports, etc, required for international travel are 100% the buyer’s expense and must be paid prior to services being rendered.  No money will be refunded for any reason.

PAYMENTS: A $200 non-refundable deposit will hold a requested American Pit Bull puppy or a $50 non-refundable deposit will hold a requested Rat Terrier puppy until they are picked up or ready to ship. Deposits are not transferable to another puppy without discussion and approval.  Once a deposit is received the requested puppy will be marked sold and the balance in full must be paid no later than 5 days prior to the agreed upon pick up or shipment date. Payments toward the remaining balance will be accepted between the deposit date, and paid in full date, if arranged and agreed upon. The total price listed for the puppy at the time the deposit is made will be the final contracted price. We reserve the right to change prices of any puppy, which a deposit has not been made on, at any time. Payments are accepted via cash, Paypal with confirmed address, money order or Western Union ONLY! Any and all payments received are non-refundable. In the event the puppy you have made a deposit on becomes unavailable due to sickness or death, all monies previously paid will apply directly to another available puppy of your choice from either the current litter or a future litter. No refunds will be given, only credits. We offer Military Discounts if you have a valid U.S. Military e-mail account!  All testing, documents, procedures, examinations and flight fees required for puppies being shipped, either within the US or internationally, must be paid prior to services rendered and are non-refundable.  The buyer is responsible for verifying all shipping charges, prior to deposit, or assumes full financial responsibility for any charges incurred. ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS: Occasionally Southern Illinois Kennel will offer adult dogs for adoption. An Application for Approval must be completed, submitted and approved. We do not require an adoption fee. We do require any dog that is adopted out to be spayed or neutered within 30 days of receipt of the dog. The new owner must provide Southern Illinois Kennel written proof of spay or neuter, from a licensed vet, within the 30 day period. If written proof is not received within the 30 day period, the new owner agrees to pay a buyer's fee of $400 on the 31st day after receipt of the dog. An interest charge of $1.00 per day, beginning on the 32nd day, will be assessed until the written proof of spay or neuter is provided to Southern Illinois Kennel. All approved adoptions can be notarized and any notary fee is the responsibility of the new owner. If a notary is not available, the new owner agrees that this contract it is still legal and binding in a court of law. In the event that legal action is required to enforce this contract, the new owner agrees to be solely responsible for all court costs, filing fees, attorneys fees and lost wages incurred by Southern Illinois Kennel and/or any member of Southern Illinois Kennel. Upon receipt of written proof of spay or neuter, Southern Illinois Kennel agrees to mail all Certificates of Registration for the dog to the new owner. This contract is then complete and all obligations between the new owner and Southern Illinois Kennel have been fulfilled.

SURGICAL PROCEDURES: Rat Terrier puppies will have their tails docked and dew claws removed. These procedures are included in the puppy price since these are standard for the breed’s appearance. American Pit Bull Terriers can have their ears cropped by our licensed vet between 5 and 8 weeks of age for an additional fee of $200. This fee must be paid prior to the procedure being performed and must be requested by the buyer by 1 week in advance to allow appropriate scheduling time. Ear crops will not be performed past 8 weeks of age. Any other surgical procedure requested by the buyer is 100% their financial responsibility and must be paid prior to surgery. In the event a deposit has been paid before something unforeseen occurs the buyer will have the option to choose another available puppy or transfer that deposit to a puppy from a future litter. Please keep in mind nature has its own set of rules that neither you nor I can control, no refunds are given. If a surgical procedure is required due to a health concern caused during breeding, as documented by a licensed vet, SI Kennel will accept full financial responsibility for those charges.

SHIPPING TERMS:
US SHIPPING: If shipping is required, in the lower 48 States, there is an additional fee of $300 per puppy to be paid by the buyer up to 10 weeks of age. If a "shipping included" price is listed when you make your deposit, all shipping charges are included in this price for any puppy up to 10 weeks of age. Shipping prices for puppies over 10 weeks of age must be discussed prior to monies being exchanged or buyer assumes full responsibility for any and all shipping charges incurred. The shipping charges will cover the airline ticket, health certificate and acclimation statement from a licensed veterinarian, and airline approved shipping crate, unless otherwise agreed upon. This price is for shipping via Northwest Airlines with no more than two flight changes on their itinerary. If a different airline carrier is preferred or required, shipping charges will vary. The buyer is responsible for supplying SI Kennel with three US airports in preferred order, prior to deposit, to be sure that your puppy can fly into an airport close to you.  Puppies must be 8 weeks of age before they can be flown and the temperature must not drop below 20 degrees or rise above 85 degrees anywhere between its departure city and destination city. Please be advised that winter temperatures may cause flight delays to certain areas, this is out of our control and should be considered before purchase. We are more than glad to negotiate different shipping arrangements if needed, please contact us with any questions prior to purchase. Any alternative shipping arrangements, including us meeting you somewhere for pick up, MUST be discussed prior to deposits made or we will assume you will be responsible for 100% of traveling to pick up your puppy. In the event we agree to travel to meet you, there will be additional charges for our travel time unless otherwise agreed prior to the deposit being made.  All fees incurred in preparation for US shipping must be paid 7 days prior to shipping be scheduled and are non-refundable otherwise outlined in US Shipping section above.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING:  If international shipping is required the buyer is required to choose an airport within the United States for Southern Illinois Kennel to ship your puppy to.  From that US airport the buyer assumes full responsibility for all travel and transport arrangements to their country.  Southern Illinois Kennel assumes responsibility only for travel within the US.  The buyer must supply Southern Illinois Kennel with a list of all required documents, testings, procedures and examinations required for international shipping to their country.  SI Kennel will make sure all required items on this list are completed prior to shipping to the US airport the buyer has chosen.  All items on the list must be paid in full prior to services rendered and the buyer is responsible for requesting estimated charges prior deposit, or the buyer agrees to assume full financial responsibility for the required charges.  In the event a required exam, document, procedure or test is not performed due to not being requested by the buyer prior to leaving the care of SI Kennel, the buyer assumes full responsibility for completion of the lacking requirement.  Shipping charges for all puppies up to 10 weeks of age are $300 and include the flight ticket, health certificate and acclimation statement from a licensed veterinarian and airline approved crate, unless otherwise discussed and agreed upon.  Shipping charges for puppies/dogs over 10 weeks of age must be discussed prior to deposit being made or the buyer assumes responsibility for all shipping charges.  In addition to the shipping charge, for international shipping a duplicate charge is required to be paid before the puppy will leave the care of SI Kennel.  This duplicate charge will be held by SI Kennel until such a time that we can verify the puppy has arrived in its intended destination country.  Once this arrival can be verified the duplicate shipping charge will be refunded via Paypal.  This duplicate charge is required for our protection in the event that required information has not been adequately compiled and requested by the buyer, the puppy is not allowed to leave the US and has to be returned to SI Kennel.  If SI Kennel has obtained all exams, testing, procedures and documents outlined on the list provided by the buyer prior to leaving our care, arrives at the US airport of the buyer’s choosing and is refused export to any other country due to inadequate completion of requirements this duplicate shipping charge is used to return the puppy/dog to SI Kennel and will NOT be refunded to the buyer.  All fees incurred in preparation for international/US shipping must be paid 7 days prior to shipping scheduling and are non-refundable unless otherwise outlined in the International Shipping section above.

HEALTH GUARANTEE: Southern Illinois Kennel offers a one year health guarantee on all puppies we sell or until the animal reaches two years of age, whichever is sooner.  This guarantee only covers life threatening; genetic defects that are proven, by a licensed veterinarian, to be a direct result from breeding and could have been prevented when bred.  In some cases, a second licensed veterinarian opinion may be requested and will be chosen by SI Kennel.  This guarantee is offered both to puppies that stay within the United States or for those shipped internationally. All puppies must be taken to a licensed veterinarian and evaluated within two business days of receipt or this guarantee is void.

ADDITIONAL: As a compliment to you, once a deposit is verified on your puppy, updated pictures of your puppy will be emailed to you at your request until it is time for your puppy to be picked up or shipped. By sending a payment, in any form, you are acknowledging you have read and agreed to these sales terms and conditions listed in this buyers agreement. This agreement is binding for all it includes and will be followed accordingly for our protection as well as our buyers. We periodically record telephone conversations under certain circumstances for proof and verification of information exchanged between a prospective buyer, buyer or past buyer and us. In the event you cannot keep your puppy for ANY REASON, please contact us first before taking your puppy to any type of shelter or humane society, etc. We would like the first opportunity to find him/her a new home.
